The Colorado Forum was established in 1978 to create an informed, objective voice on critical public policy issues facing the state. Our 65 members are recognized leaders in the business, education, healthcare, media, legal, real estate, energy and non-profit communities and represent disparate regions in the state of Colorado. Amy Burkett

 

Managing Director and Senior Vice President, HKS

In January 2015, Amy was inducted into the American Institute of Architecture College of Fellows, one of the industry’s highest honors.  Past president and founder of Burkett Design, Amy Burkett, FAIA, LEED® AP is an architect, entrepreneur, speaker and groundbreaking businesswoman.  Recently, she moved back to Denver after working and living in Dubai and has joined the global architectural firm of HKS as the managing director and senior vice president for Colorado. HKS has 1400 employees and 20 offices in the US and 5 offices internationally.  Burkett has left a well-respected mark on a number of projects in the US, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Australia, and Singapore.

Amy is currently a member of YPO (Young President’s Organization) and sat on the board of trustees of the Denver Chamber of Commerce for 7 years until the sale of her firm.  Additionally, Amy has been a guest speaker at various national and international conferences including the AIA National Conference and the US-Saudi Business Council annual meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  She’s been a guest juror and critic for the Dar Al Hekma University architecture design studio in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as well as University of Colorado’s master of architecture program.
