ABOUT THE COLORADO FORUM

The Colorado Forum was established in 1978 to create an informed, objective voice on critical public policy issues facing the state.  Our 77 members are recognized leaders in the business, education, health care, media, legal, real estate, agriculture, financial, energy, consulting, tourism, construction, and non-profit communities and represent disparate parts of the state.  Forum membership is politically diverse; we are a nonpartisan organization that operates by 100% consensus. Barbara Baumann

President, Cross Creek Energy Corporation

Barbara Baumann is President of Cross Creek Energy Corporation of Denver, Colorado.  She previously worked for Associated Energy Managers, as well as for Amoco Corporation and its subsidiaries, including as Vice President of the company’s San Juan Basin Business Unit. 

Barbara currently serves on the board of directors of publicly traded Devon Energy Corporation and Buckeye Energy Partners, LP as well as privately held Hat Creek Energy Corporation.  She is an independent trustee of the Putnam Mutual Funds.  She is actively involved with local non-profits, serving on the Finance Committee of Children’s Hospital Colorado and on the board of The Denver Foundation, where she chairs its Finance Committee and serves on its Investment Committee.  Barbara is a former board chair of Girls, Inc. of Metro Denver.  

Barbara holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College.  She is the current chair of the board of trustees of Mount Holyoke.
