A MESSAGE FROM GAIL KLAPPER
MEMBER/DIRECTOR

We are very privileged to live in Colorado and members of the Colorado Forum care deeply about the future of our State.  The Colorado Forum was formed in 1978 with a diverse membership of business and civic leaders who work to achieve good public policy results for Colorado. The Forum has a long history of positive engagement on issues of importance to the State and because the Forum has no term limits, our consistency of purpose allows us to address issues for as long as it takes to make important change happen. More >

HEALTHCARE

Our Perspective

Every Coloradan deserves access to quality, affordable health care.  We must implement strategies in Colorado that will improve health care delivery and contain costs.  We must also pursue policies that will maximize wellness and preventative care for all Coloradans.

Our Work

The Colorado Forum supported the establishment of a state-based insurance exchange - Connect for Health Colorado - rather than rely on the federal government to manage healthcare reform in our state.  We also support the multi-faceted efforts underway to make Colorado the healthiest state in the country.  The Forum was a vocal advocate for the hospital based provider fee to allow the healthcare needs of our most disadvantaged citizens to be financed in a more robust way and we applauded Governor Hickenlooper's decision to expand Medicaid eligibility in Colorado.  The Forum is particularly focused on bringing private and public resources to bear on the health needs of our children and we played an active role in the original implementation of the Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHP+) in the state. The Forum has worked closely with state and federal officials and the business and philanthropic communities to help create and implement an effective program that will make health care available to all of Colorado's uninsured children.
