We are very privileged to live in Colorado and members of the Colorado Forum care deeply about the future of our State.  The Colorado Forum was formed in 1978 with a diverse membership of business and civic leaders who work to achieve good public policy results for Colorado. The Forum has a long history of positive engagement on issues of importance to the State and because the Forum has no term limits, our consistency of purpose allows us to address issues for as long as it takes to make important change happen. More >

Richard W. Lawrence

President and Chief Executive Officer, Colorado Financial Management, LLC 

 

Richard Lawrence is President and CEO of Boulder based financial planning and investment management company, Colorado Financial Management. CFM has three offices in Denver, Loveland and Boulder. The company supports individuals and families, their businesses, and non-profit organizations.

Before joining CFM, Lawrence worked for seven years at the University of Colorado Foundation where he served in a number of executive roles including President and CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer.  His efforts were fundamental to the strategic planning and execution of the Foundation’s $1.5 billion Creating Futures campaign, during which the foundation realized its five most successful fundraising years in its history. 

Prior to his 2006 arrival at the Foundation, Rick worked in banking for more than 25 years at Banc One Corporation and, from 2000 to 2006, Vectra Bank of Colorado where he was Chief Financial Officer and later managed the operation in greater metro Denver.

Lawrence has led or served on many volunteer boards, and is currently a member of the board of directors of Foothills United Way, TRU (Boulder County Hospice), and The Directors Club (University of Colorado Alumni Association).

Rick received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Lafayette, Colorado and have two children.
