Rich Rainaldi is a partner in Green Spark Ventures, an impact investment firm dedicated to deploying capital into the clean energy, conservation, and regenerative agriculture industries to help accelerate the adoption of strategies that directly address the impact of the climate crisis.

 

From 1991 to 1998 Rich worked as a program officer for the Piton Foundation in Denver.  The Piton Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of low-income residents in Denver.  At Piton, Rich managed several initiatives in the areas of job training, education, and youth development. 

 

In 1998, Rich left Piton to become the Vice-President of Corporate Relations for U.S. Bank where he was responsible for the company’s corporate philanthropy, sponsorships, media relations, and community relations.  At U.S. Bank, Rich developed several new grant initiatives to support the technology needs of non-profits. 

 

Rich left U.S. Bank in 2000 to start CiviCore.  CiviCore developed customized databases for non-profits across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Australia specializing in mentoring, volunteer management, scholarship, and victim services systems.  Rich sold his interest in CiviCore in 2015 to direct his focus into the field of impact investing.

 

Rich has served on the board of over a dozen non-profit organizations here in Colorado and across the country including Rebuilding Together USA, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and Earthjustice.  Rich is a recipient of the Minoru Yasui Award for Community Service and in 2008 received the William Funk Community Builder Award from the Colorado Nonprofit Association.

 

Rich holds a degree in Economics from Harvard University and a Masters in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.  Rich is married to Martha Records and has 3 children.  Rich enjoys road biking, cooking, swimming and hiking.
