Dave Ryan
Executive Director, The Anschutz Foundation

Dave Ryan serves as the Executive Director of The Anschutz Foundation. The Anschutz Foundation is one of the largest private foundations in Colorado and supports a broad variety of charitable initiatives to positively impact the people of Colorado specifically and society in general in the areas of education, health care, human service, veterans, public policy, arts and culture, and personal and spiritual values. Previously, Dave was the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC), the oldest and largest youth mentoring agency in the state.

Prior to BBBSC, Dave had a variety of senior roles in both the private sector, primarily with early-stage software companies and venture capital investing. Dave’s early career experience includes positions in senior sales management positions with various venture-funded technology companies in Denver, London, and Washington, DC.

Dave has been appointed by the Governor of Colorado to serve as a Commissioner on the State Commission for Community Service. He has served on the boards of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center (chairman), the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado – Boulder, The Spot Youth Center, Urban Peak Youth Homeless Shelter, the Boulder Philharmonic, Adventures Within, and the Logan School for Creative Learning.

 

Dave holds a BA from the University of Virginia in Economics and an MBA from the University of Colorado - Boulder, where he was a Robert K. Anderson Entrepreneurial Fellow and a Harry Trueblood Entrepreneurial Fellow. He has a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Harvard Business School.

 

Dave lives in Denver with his wife, Christy, and two active and athletic sons, Jack and Will.
