Mary K. Rhinehart is Chairman of Johns Manville (JM), a global manufacturer of premium-quality building products and engineered specialty materials and a Berkshire Hathaway company.

Mary worked more than four decades at JM, holding leadership roles in finance, global treasury, global supply chain, human resources and strategic business development, as well as managing several of the company’s businesses.

She served as President and CEO from 2012 to 2020, after serving as CFO for eight years, and has been Chairman since 2014.

Mary is personally committed to giving back to the community and contributing her business insights to other organizations. She currently serves as a non-executive Director for CRH, a global leader in building materials, and as a Director for Graphic Packaging Holding Company, a leading provider of sustainable paper-based packaging solutions. With a passion for education, advancing women in leadership and grassroots advocacy, she also contributes her expertise as a member of the Executive Committee for the Policy Advisory Board of the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies; the University of Denver Board of Trustees; the International Women’s Forum; The Colorado Forum; and the Committee of 200. Mary is a former board member of CoBiz Financial; PlyGem Corporation; UC Health; Kemp Children’s Foundation; Denver Chamber of Commerce; and Chairman of the Craig Hospital Board. Mary has been honored with numerous awards for her professional leadership and philanthropic service.

Mary graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree in finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and she earned an M.B.A. from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
