Jeff Vierling is CEO of Tailwind Nutrition, an internationally recognized sports nutrition company based in Durango, CO. Founded after finishing the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike race with his head in a trash can, Jeff and his wife Jenny have grown Tailwind from a kitchen experiment into a global brand serving endurance athletes worldwide while remaining rooted in Southwest Colorado.

Prior to Tailwind, Jeff founded three companies and led product development for Syndicom. He began his career at Microsoft, where he developed a foundation in technology and product innovation that continues to inform his entrepreneurial work.

Jeff is deeply engaged in civic and economic development efforts. He serves as a reviewer for the Colorado Office of Economic Development’s Advanced Industries Accelerator Grants Program, evaluating early-stage companies. He helped found and was the first board president of the Powerhouse Science Center and previously served as chair of the La Plata County Planning Commission.

Jeff is a graduate of Cherry Creek High School and Stanford University. He and his wife raised their two daughters in Durango. An avid endurance athlete, he holds a 1,000-mile Leadville Trail buckle.
