Steven Katich
Director of Business Development and Government Relations
JE Dunn Construction Company

An attorney by trade, Katich has served since 2010 as the Director of Business Development and Government Relations in the Denver office of JE Dunn Construction Company, the 11th largest general contractor in the nation.

A Colorado resident since the 1970’s, Steve has seen first-hand the growth and progress the State has enjoyed. During his senior year of college at the University of Denver, he took a quarter off in 1974 to join the gubernatorial campaign of then candidate Dick Lamm. For six months he traveled the State with Lamm, providing Steve with a first-hand education of the various issues facing the State. He has considered himself a Coloradoan ever since.

Katich currently serves on the Board of Directors of Downtown Denver, Inc., one of the boards of the Downtown Denver Partnership. He also is a member of the Colorado Consular Corps, serving as Honorary Consul General for the Republic of Serbia. Previously, Katich served on the boards of the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and the Colorado AIDS Project.

In the 1980’s, Mayor Federico Pena appointed Steve to serve as the executive director of the Denver Baseball Commission, heading the City’s successful effort to attract a Major League Baseball team to Colorado. He then joined GBSM, a public policy and strategic communications firm, where he became a partner and worked for thirteen years.

Katich graduated from the University of Denver and then the George Washington University Law School. He is married to Ellen Jaskol, an award-winning professional photographer who won two Pulitzer Prizes at the Rocky Mountain News. He has two grown daughters, Alexandra and Helen.
