Dominic Karaba took the helm of Vectra Bank Colorado as president and chief executive officer in December 2025. He is a distinguished leader with a track record of driving business success and profitability. Karaba formerly served as the President and Chief Banking Officer at Veritex Community Bank, responsible for overseeing all lines of business at the bank and tasked with driving strategy and financial results. In his prior role as President of Commercial Banking at UMB Bank, Karaba managed a commercial bank with more than $700 million in annual revenue, showcasing his ability to grow strategic initiatives and significantly impact company results. His leadership spans various business lines, including Asset Based Lending, Community and Retail Banking, Business Banking, Middle Market and Corporate Banking, Specialty Lines of Business, and Commercial Real Estate. Karaba is known for setting strategic directions that optimize performance and results.

In previous positions as President of Specialty Banking and Executive Vice President - Business Banking Director, Karaba excelled in restructuring divisions, leading to strong growth and significant financial performance improvements and the profitable restructure and sale of a division. His experience at U.S. Bank, involved successfully tackling underperforming markets, implementing division-wide initiatives, and managing profitability and annual growth.

Karaba's extensive leadership spans regions like Colorado/Utah, Wisconsin, Texas and Kansas/Missouri, where he consistently drove revenue growth, reversed trends, and led turnarounds. Committed to employee development, he initiated programs like the Small Business Specialists and coached future bank senior leaders.

Beyond corporate achievements, Karaba holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puget Sound, where he served as captain of the baseball team. He also earned a Graduate Degree in Banking from the Pacific Coast Graduate School of Banking at the University of Washington.

Actively involved in the community, he served as a former board member of the Colorado Enterprise Fund, board trustee of the Colorado PGA Reach Foundation, and engaged in Make-A-Wish, to name a few, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact beyond the business world.
