Bruce Alexander took the helm of Vectra Bank Colorado as president and chief executive officer in March 2000. Prior to leading Vectra, Alexander was executive director of the Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA), which helps drive Denver’s economic growth and urban vitality. He spent the previous 20 years leading and managing other financial institutions across Colorado.

A graduate of the University of Virginia, Alexander has developed a long history of community involvement. He was appointed twice as a director of the Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He has served in leadership roles as chair of the board of directors for the Downtown Denver Partnership, Denver Health and Hospital Authority and Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry. In addition to serving as past chair and current board member for the Colorado Bankers Association and Visit Denver, he also serves on the boards for Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and The Nature Conservancy.

As a fifth generation Coloradoan and banker, Alexander brings an extensive background in the business community as well as a distinguished track record of leadership and management experience honed in the private, public and non-profit sectors.
